Cultural Heritage in 3D: a guided walkthrough publishing 3D content on Europeana

This webinar offers you the opportunity to find out about Europeana's requirements for 3D models and see how the Hunt Museum took all steps from data capturing to publishing on Europeana.

Description

After an introduction to CARARE and the webinar from Henk Alkemade, Sian McInerney and Dermot Sheehan of The Hunt Museum in Ireland share their experiences of capturing objects from the museums's collections in 3D and processing the content for upload to Sketchfab and then on Europeana, and talk about some of the ways in which the Hunt is using 3D digital content for engagement both inside and outside the museums walls. Lianne Heslinga of the Europeana Foundation then speaks about Europeana's Publishing Framework (quality requirements), the Europeana Data Model (metadata requirements) for 3D and future plans to increase the amount of 3D that users can find on Europeana.
